Brasil CineMundi – International Coproduction Meeting aims to expand networks and business between Brazilian professionals and representatives of the international industry, facilitating connections between independent Brazilian productions and the global market through productive partnerships and exchange of information and joint actions. The program also promotes training, cooperation, exchange activities, business roundtables and awards, focusing

on trends in contemporary cinema and independent production from an innovative perspective.

In its annual editions, Brasil CineMundi selects feature film projects in different stages of conception. For the 15th edition, the selection committee chose 38 projects, 33 in development and 5 work-in-progress, divided into five categories.

IN DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Horizonte

This category presents a selection of 10 Brazilian feature film projects in the development stage that represent the horizon of themes, diversity and creation of the Brazilian audiovisual sector. These projects participate in the CineMundi Lab and in the business roundtables (one-on-one meetings).

This action encourages and disseminates new talents and their inclusion in the international market. The 10 selected projects will be evaluated by a jury composed of three professionals to choose a winning project. The award for the winning project will be the Horizonte Trophy, a guaranteed spot in a international market event and services offered by partner companies. The projects also compete for invitations to participate in international audiovisual market events.

DocBrasil Meeting

This category presents a selection of six Brazilian feature film projects working within the documentary genre. The proposal is to promote a space for sales, dialogue and reflection, in addition to building networks, cooperation and exchange of experiences aimed at the promotion and the dissemination of Brazilian documentary films in the international audiovisual market. These projects participate in the CineMundi Lab and in business roundtables (one-on-one meetings) aimed at a specialized audience of international professionals who work in the documentary market.

The award for the projects in this section will be composed of audiovisual materials and services offered by partner companies and invitations to take part in international audiovisual market events.

Foco Minas

This category features a selection of seven feature film projects. Its purpose is to expand the presence of projects originating in the state of Minas Gerais, aiming to ensure participation in the meetings and promoting audiovisual development in the state. These projects participate in the CineMundi Lab and inbusiness roundtables (one-on-one meetings).

The award for the projects in this section will be composed of audiovisual materials and services offered by partner companies and invitations to take part in international audiovisual market events.

Paradiso Multiplica

This category presents a selection of 10 projects to receive an online script mentoring offered by the Paradiso Project talent team. This action aims to expand the service provided to Brazilian projects, promoting training and contributing to their development. In addition to mentoring, these projects also have access to CineMundi Lab activities and a networking agenda. The award for the projects in this section is consulting services offered by a partner company.

WIP – FIRST CUT PROJECTS

This category presents a selection of five projects in the post-production phase, which have a first cut of at least 60 minutes and are looking for partnerships and guidance for post-production of the film. The films in this category will be presented in film screenings to the professionals from the national and international audiovisual market, and will receive specialized consultancy that will contribute to their post-production.   All the five projects will participate in the CineMundi Lab and in the business roundtables focusing on distribution strategies, world sales and premieres at national and/or international festivals. The award for the projects in this category will be in post-production services offered by the partner companies.
