TRAINING FILMMAKERS, TRAINING AUDIENCES: ENCOUNTER WITH RICHARD PEÑA

One of the most respected (and beloved) professors at the film department of Columbia University in New York, Richard Peña has extensive experience as an educator and programmer. For years he ran the New York Film Festival and the New Directors/New Films showcase, dedicated to discovering new global talent. He was also responsible for the film programming at Lincoln Center, in New York. Over these years, he studied and developed a close relationship with Brazilian cinema and its filmmakers. At this event, Richard Peña talks about his career with his friend and fellow professor João Luiz Vieira, from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF).
